Computer Books

iMac for Dummies

By David Pogue

This is a brilliant book for beginners. I read it before I bought my Mac, and I took to the machine like a fish to water. I even recommend it for experienced Mac users, it is sure to teach you quite a bit, and Pogue's writing is funny as hell.

Being Digital

By Nicholas Negroponte

This is a supremely famous book, and rightly so. I never saw such an eye-opener regarding the potential of the computer and the net, and all things digital. Negroponte has a perspective and a vision that extremely few men can rival. Read it!

Insanely Great
The Life and Times of Macintosh, the Computer that changed Everything

By Steven Levy

This book is not only very informative about the history of the Mac computer, but also about the history of the user-friendly personal computer in general. On top of that it is a great pleasure to read, since Levy is so enthusiastic and honestly interested and caring about what he investigates, and since he writes so wonderfully well. He has none of the ill-concealed snideness that typifies many journalists, instead he has an ability to see what is important for the world.
