Whether you are talking about the founder of the Scientology philosophy or the fiction author, he was a man that made waves. Big ones.

His fiction is quite unique. I am a hardened reader. But still Hubbard can touch my heartstrings. And he is the only author ever to make me lose my breath while reading.

Battlefield Earth

Disguised as a simplistic shoot-em-up space opera, this is one of the most aesthetic books I have read. I was the editor when they published it in Danish, and that was the fourth time I read it. I have never ever read any book four times before, and still it put tears in my eyes and made me laugh.

If you prefer neurotic "problems of the human heart" books, DON'T buy this one. If you like to think big, do.

Maybe my favorite novel in the world.

Mission Earth

Can you imagine a satiric Space Opera novel in ten volumes? Well, neither could anyone until L. Ron Hubbard wrote Mission Earth.

Above all, it is really, really funny. It also has the best social commentary and the best action found anywhere.

I read it when the hard cover volumes were still coming out one at a time. It was torture waiting for the next one.
