Is an unparalleled Fantasy author. I don't read much fantasy, because it mostly seemed to contain all the same elements. Not so with Powers. His books contains things that you will swear no one has ever thought of before, and yet they are amazingly convincing, with loads of details that all fit together like a cogs in a watch.

The famous critic Algis Budrys has repeatedly pointed out that Tim Powers is a genius. Tim himself disagrees, but what does he know?
